Workshop Introduction to the Wheel

Next Dates America/Curacao

XCG 125 | Duration: 2.5 hours | Max. 5 people

Have you always wanted to try making something on a pottery wheel? During this accessible workshop, you will learn the basics of wheel throwing, centering clay, building a form, and creating your own unique object, such as a bowl.

This workshop is perfect for beginners who want to get acquainted with ceramics in a relaxed way. You will work in a small group of up to five people, allowing for plenty of personal attention.

What can you expect?

In 2.5 hours, you will learn how to work with the pottery wheel under guidance. You will practice centering, pulling up the walls, and shaping a small piece. At the end of the workshop, you will choose one favorite piece. This work will be finished by us with a transparent glaze and fired twice, making it waterproof, durable, and dishwasher safe. After about four weeks, you will receive a notification that your work is ready for pickup in the studio.

Would you prefer to do the glazing yourself? Then you can come back later for a Paint your Pottery session. For this, you pay an additional studio fee of XCG 25 per person. Your work will then be fired again and will be ready for you in about 2 weeks.

Included:

  • All materials (clay, tools, glaze)
  • One transparent glazed and fired piece
  • Want to keep more pieces? That can be done for an additional fee of XCG 15 per piece
